BRIEFLY : ELKS EVENT RAISES FUNDS FOR EYE TESTS.


SIMI VALLEY Simi Valley (sē`mē, sĭm`ē), city (1990 pop. 100,217), Ventura co., SW Calif. in an oil, fruit, and farm region; laid out 1887, inc. 1969.  - The Elks Lodge raised approximately $10,000 to provide vision screenings for incoming kindergartners during a golf tournament Monday, organizers said.

Simi Valley Elks Lodge 2492 hosted the third annual golf tournament, which drew about 100 participants to the Sunset Hills Country Club in Thousand Oaks. Proceeds from a silent auction are still being tallied.

The vision tests are offered through any Elks club in California or Hawaii.

VENTURA - Ventura police are seeking Christopher Evangelista Scull, 20, of Simi Valley in the carjacking and robbery of a Thousand Oaks man, officials said Monday.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Scull, who is suspected of abducting ab·duct
