BRIEFLY : DUCKS OFFER GORING HEAD-COACHING JOB.Byline: Daily News Wire Services Butch Goring, out of the NHL since the 1986-87 season, said he has been offered the Mighty Ducks coaching job. Ducks spokesman Rob Scichili wouldn't comment on the matter, but said Wednesday night a press conference will be held today at 10 a.m. at the Pond to ``make a personnel announcement.'' Goring, coach and general manager of the minor-league Utah Grizzlies, would replace Pierre Page, who was fired after one season on June 15. Contract negotiations were ongoing and expected to be completed sometime this week, the Los Angeles Times and Orange County Register reported. Goring hasn't coached in the NHL since 1986-87 with the Boston Bruins. He led the Bruins to a 37-31-2 record in 1985-86, but he was fired 13 games into the next season. Kings right wing Dan Bylsma underwent surgery to repair a broken bone in his right foot, but is expected to be recovered by the first day of training camp, Sept. 12. Bylsma was hurt during offseason conditioning in his hometown of Grand Rapids, Mich. Also, the Kings signed defenseman Sean Blanchard, their fourth-round draft choice in the 1997 entry draft, to a three-year contract. Mike Richter, who never wanted to leave the New York Rangers, re-signed with them. Curtis Joseph, who was on the verge of signing with the Rangers to replace Richter as goalie, left the Edmonton Oilers for the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Philadelphia Flyers signed a one-year contract extension with Ron Hextall, general manager Bob Clarke said. The deal will keep the 34-year-old goalie with the Flyers through 2000.
