BRIEFLY : DRIVE-THROUGH CLINIC GIVES FREE FLU SHOTS.


SIMI VALLEY Simi Valley (sē`mē, sĭm`ē), city (1990 pop. 100,217), Ventura co., SW Calif. in an oil, fruit, and farm region; laid out 1887, inc. 1969.  - A record number of people lined up in their cars to receive free flu vaccinations at the fifth annual Drive-Through Flu Clinic in Simi Valley on Saturday, with more than 4,000 people arming themselves against the flu this season.

The clinic, sponsored by the Family Health Center Medical Group and the Simi Valley Hospital Simi Valley Hospital (SVH) is a Seventh-day Adventist hospital located located in Simi Valley, California. SVH is a member of Adventist Health. New Construction
Simi Valley Hospital is in the process of building a new wing to the hospital.
 & Health Care Services, was equipped to give out 6,000 free vaccinations by the end of the day. The event was held in the parking lot of the Farmers Insurance Group offices, so people were able to get shots without leaving their cars.

Officials said that with 4,000 poeple arriving for appointment time on Saturday morning, there would easily be more than twice the number of shots given out this year than at the same clinic in 1998.

Detectives found supplies that indicated that growers camped out at the site, including fertilizers, hand tools, clothing and food. There also was evidence of firearms This is an extensive list of small arms — pistol, machine gun, grenade launcher, anti-tank rifle — that includes variants.
