BRIEFLY : DEPUTIES SUE COUNTY OVER FIREARMS LAW.


Three Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  County sheriff's deputies sued the county Thursday, seeking to block enforcement of a new law prohibiting gun possession by anyone convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence.

3-year-old girl stable after being hit by car

PACOIMA - A 3-year-old girl hit by a car Thursday in Pacoima was hospitalized in stable condition, a city fire official said.

The 1:05 p.m. crash occurred at 12836 Sunburst St., department spokesman Brian Humphrey said. The girl suffered a head injury but was conscious and alert, Humphrey said.

She was airlifted to Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.

Firefighters free woman hurt in crash

WOODLAND HILLS - A 38-year-old woman was seriously injured Thursday when the car she was riding in collided with a sport utility vehicle in Woodland Hills, trapping her for a time.

The woman's husband and their three children were slightly injured in the 3:45 p.m. collision at Victory Boulevard and Platt Avenue but declined to be taken to a hospital, said Los Angeles Fire Department The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), also known as the Los Angeles City Fire Department to distinguish it from the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
