``Since members of the Board of Supervisors receive the same salary as state Superior Court judges, pursuant to section 4 of the county Charter, county supervisors will begin to receive their new salaries when Superior Court judges do,'' Janssen wrote.

The state must issue a confirming order, which is expected soon, Janssen wrote.

The auditor-controller is expected to implement the new salary schedule Oct. 15, retroactive to July 1, according to Janssen.

Boy sought in slaying of Glendale teen-ager

PASADENA - A warrant was issued Thursday for the arrest of a Glendale teen accused in the fatal shooting last week of a 15-year-old Hoover High School Hoover High School may refer to any of the following:

  • Hoover High School, North Canton, Ohio
  • Hoover High School, Glendale, CA

Deputy District Attorney JoAnn Glidden requested the warrant from a Pasadena judge, after filing a murder charge against 17-year-old Artiom Badalyan, and an allegation that he used a firearm in the slaying.

The action comes a day after sheriff's K-9 deputies found the suspected murder weapon in Brand Park in Glendale.

Avetis Demirchyan was shot in the stomach last Thursday during an argument and fistfight about 5:30 p.m. He died two days later.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Armenian Cathedral, 1201 N. Vine St., Hollywood. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial-Park, Hollywood Hills.
