BRIEFLY : COUNCIL SETTLES SUIT OVER GIRLS SOFTBALL.

One person injured in nine-car crash

LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE - Nine vehicles were involved in a chain-reaction, one-injury crash on the westbound Foothill (210) Freeway on Tuesday.

The crash occurred west of the Angeles Crest (2) Highway at 2:11 p.m., said California Highway Patrol Officer Richard Perez.

The injury reported was not believed to be severe, Perez said.

Two lanes of the freeway were out of commission briefly as the crash was investigated, he said.

Supervisor asks for race profiling study

Council committee to meet in Pacoima

The second Los Angeles City Council committee in two weeks is moving outside of City Hall today to get the public's view on issues.

The Information, Technology and General Services Committee, chaired by Councilman Alex Padilla, will meet at 6:30 p.m. today at the Ritchie Valens Recreation Center Gymnasium, 10736 Laurel Canyon Blvd., Pacoima, to discuss technical issues, including the city's readiness for Y2K problems and the issue of access to cable modems.
