Beginning Saturday, July 10, the workshop will run Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon at the college's Adult Community Training Center, 1122 E. Garfield Ave., in Glendale.

The class will concentrate on style, timing, writing material and wrap up with a live performance at the Ice House in Pasadena.

GLENDALE - A lecture on ``aging smart'' is offered by Verdugo Hills Hospital as part of their ``Take Charge of Your Life'' women's health series scheduled for July 15, from 7 to 9 p.m.

The lecture will be held in the Council Room of the hospital.

Monika White, Ph.D., will talk about steps older people can take to plan for unanticipated events.

Those interested are encouraged to register early. Seating is limited. Registration is $15. To make a reservation, call the Marketing and Community Relations Department at (818) 952-2227.
