CAMARILLO - A motorist died Monday after a tractor-trailer slammed into a hillside and overturned, sending the bulldozer on its flatbed crashing on top of the driver's vehicle.

Volunteers needed for water board

SIMI VALLEY Simi Valley (sē`mē, sĭm`ē), city (1990 pop. 100,217), Ventura co., SW Calif. in an oil, fruit, and farm region; laid out 1887, inc. 1969.  - The city is seeking volunteers to serve on the Water Resources Advisory Board.

The board, which meets quarterly, was created in 1979 to advise the city regarding the Simi Valley Sanitation Section and the Ventura County Waterworks waterworks: see water supply.  District No. 8.

The vacancies for two regular and one alternate position will be filled by appointment. Board members serve four-year terms. For more information, contact the district engineer's office at 583-6805 on or before Feb. 25.

Spaces available for arts, crafts fair

SIMI VALLEY - The Council on Aging is seeking applications from people 50 years of age or older who would like vendor space at the Spring Arts and Crafts arts and crafts, term for that general field of applied design in which hand fabrication is dominant. The term was coined in England in the late 19th cent. as a label for the then-current movement directed toward the revivifying of the decorative arts.  Fair.

The fair, which is free and open to the public, is set for April 3-4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Senior Center, 3900 Avenida Simi SIMI Sea Ice Mechanics Initiative

Elections panel seeks members

SIMI VALLEY - The Citizens Election Advisory Commission is seeking two regular members and one alternate.

The five-member panel generally meets five times during an election year. Members review candidate and committee financial statements, prepare candidate and committee orientation briefings, and inform candidates and committees of state and local election code requirements.
