BRIEFLY : BOYS WITH GASOLINE SET FAMILY HOME FIRE.


OXNARD - Two juveniles playing with matches and gasoline set their single-family home on fire in the 1000 block of Bluebell bluebell, common name for several plants belonging to completely different classes, particularly the bellflower and the Virginia cowslip, or Virginia bluebell, of the family Boraginaceae (borage family) and the wood hyacinth, a squill of the family Liliaceae (lily  Street, authorities said Monday.

No one was injured in the 8:45 p.m. Sunday fire that caused $100,000 in damage to the structure and contents, officials said. The boys, 7 and 9, were playing with the gasoline in the attached garage, which was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, authorities said.

Chain-link fence cut, pickups stolen

VENTURA - Thieves cut through a chain-link fence at Barber Ford over the weekend and drove off with two new Ford Ranger pickup trucks, police said.

An employee noticed Sunday that the fence at the rear of the dealership had been cut, then determined that two pickups were missing, police said.

One is a white pickup with a medium gray interior valued at almost $16,000. The other is a deep blue, extended-cab pickup with a gray interior valued at nearly $19,000, police said. Both had only temporary, paper license plates.
