BRIEFLY : BOY IN CRITICAL CARE DAYS AFTER SURGERY.

The 8-year-old Panorama City boy whose right arm had to be reattached after a freak accident last week remained in critical condition at UCLA Medical Center UCLA Medical Center is a hospital located on the campus of the University of California, Los Angeles in Los Angeles, California. It is rated as one of the top three hospitals in the United States and is the top hospital on the West Coast according to US News & World Report.  on Monday.

``It will be a couple of days before doctors begin to know more about his long-term prognosis,'' said hospital spokesman Warren Robak. ``He's making progress, but they're still watching him very closely.''

Anthony Triado's family has been at his side much of the time since the accident on Thursday, Robak said.

The limb was severed when a rope the boy had around his arm got tangled in the wheels of his mother's car as they were leaving on a holiday camping trip.

Doctors reattached the limb and its nerves during 6-1/2 hours of surgery. So far, the procedure appears successful, with blood circulating to Anthony's fingers and hand, Robak said.
