QUARTZ HILL - A robber dressed completely in black held up a private mail-box store, taking $2,000 in cash and fleeing in a waiting vehicle, sheriff's officials said.

The robber - wearing a black trench coat, black pants, black shirt and black baseball cap - entered the Quartz Hill Mail Depot in the 42200 block of 50th Street West shortly after 10:35 a.m. Tuesday.

``He brandished the gun and demanded money,'' said Deputy Jeff Adams Jeff Adams (born November 15, 1970 in Mississauga, Ontario) is a four-time Canadian Paralympian and a six-time world champion in wheelchair sports. At the 2000 Summer Paralympics he won five medals, a gold in the 800 m and 1500 m, a silver in the 400 m and a bronze . ``Employees complied and he got into a waiting vehicle.''

The getaway vehicle is described as a yellow 1970s American-made sedan Sedan (sədäN`), town (1990 pop. 22,407), Ardennes dept., NE France, on the Meuse River. A noted textile center since the 16th cent., Sedan also has metal and brewing industries. The town became part of French crown lands in 1642.  - possibly a Cadillac, Buick or Oldsmobile - with a white roof.

Deputies identify suspects in chase

Mojave woman dies in Lancaster crash

LANCASTER - A woman killed Saturday night when the van in which she was riding was hit by a flatbed truck A flatbed truck is a type of truck which can be either articulated or rigid. It has an entirely flat, level body with absolutely no sides or roof. This allows for quick and easy loading of goods, and consequently they are used to transport heavy loads that are not delicate or  has been identified as Cindy Allee, 42, of Mojave.

Grillene Irigoian, 23, of Lancaster was driving a Ford flatbed truck north on Sierra Highway Sierra Highway is a road in Southern California, United States. It runs from Tunnel Station near the north limit of the City of Los Angeles, where it intersects with San Fernando Road and Foothill Boulevard, as well as Interstate 5, and continues north to Mojave, mostly paralleling  at 7:41 p.m. Saturday when a 1969 Ford Econoline van driven by Max Allee, 44, of Mojave made a left turn in front of him, deputies said.

Cindy Allee, a passenger in the van, was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital and died at 5 a.m. Sunday. Max Allee was being treated at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, which was not releasing any information. Irigoian was not injured.

Irigoian had the green light and deputies were investigating at what point Max Allee drove into the intersection. Sgt. Gus Risinger said Allee might have been confused and did not cross the intersection as quickly as other cars. The couple was visiting friends, Risinger said.
