PALMDALE - Deputies from the Palmdale Partners Against Crime unit will hold their first Hoop Shoot PAC PAC, see political action committee.

 Challenge from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 19 at Courson Park, 38334 10th St. E.

The shoot will provide Palmdale girls and boys, ages 7 to 14, a chance to demonstrate their basketball skills in various hoop contests.

The PAC Challenge is a free event hosted by the city of Palmdale and the Palmdale Sheriff's Boosters.

The first 100 kids to sign up will receive a free PAC Challenge T-shirt. Prizes, including sports bottles and balls, will be awarded to winners of the various Hoop Challenge events.

Girl who fell in pool treated at hospital

PALMDALE - A 1-year-old girl who fell into a swimming pool was listed in fair condition Friday at a Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  hospital and is expected to be sent home, hospital officials said.

The girl, whose name was not released, was airlifted to Childrens Hospital Los Angeles after she fell into a backyard pool in the 38900 block of Carolside Drive shortly before 5 p.m. Thursday

Although she was pulled out of the pool, family members who called 911 said that the girl was having difficulty breathing, deputies said
