Bank of America (NYSE: BAC TYO: 8648 ) is the largest commercial bank in the United States in terms of deposits, and the largest company of its kind in the world.
 branch Friday afternoon escaped, but left the loot at the door, police said.

The men came into the bank at 4123 W. Olive Ave. at 3:30 p.m., handed the teller a note saying they were robbing the bank, then took the money and left, said Burbank police Lt. Janice Lowers.

``For some reason, they dropped the money when they got out of the bank,'' Lowers said. ``The money was recovered.''

The suspects left in a mid-to-late 1980s model, dark green Buick Regal, she said.

Youth fund's panel needs applicants

BURBANK - The Burbank City Council is seeking applicants for the five-member Youth Endowment Services Fund Advisory Committee.

The YES Fund supports activities that benefit Burbank youths. The Advisory Committee identifies potential projects to be financed and develops fund-raising campaigns.

Committee members serve without compensation and must be Burbank residents, eligible to vote.

Applications will be accepted through June 18 for one vacancy - an unexpired term that will end June 1, 2001.

Applicants can pick up an application form at the City Clerk's Office in City Hall, 275 E. Olive Ave.

The appointment will be made at the June 29 City Council meeting.

Celebrate scholars at Flag Day Mixer

LA CRESCENTA - The Crescenta Valley The Crescenta Valley is a small inland valley in Los Angeles County, California. The school is a part of the Glendale Unified School District. .

The chamber will present Crescenta Valley High School with a plaque to recognize its recent designation as a California Distinguished School. Crescenta Valley seniors Jiwon Nam and Jeehyun Lee will receive $250 scholarships.

The mixer is scheduled for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Los Angeles County sheriff's station at 4554 Briggs Ave.
