GLENDALE - Glendale police say an autopsy of a 35-year-old man found dead in his apartment early Monday afternoon shows the man was murdered.

Coroner's investigators determined the cause of death Wednesday, but police have asked that the report be sealed because it may help identify a suspect.

Pair to get hearing in window smashings

Two men suspected of some of the vandalism in which windows of more than 240 vehicles have been shattered on Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  area freeways since Sept. 11 were held without bail Friday, for alleged probation violations.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James Bascue set an Oct. 18 hearing for Hugo Hernandez, 22, and Jose Soto, 21.

Hernandez was on probation for car theft, and Soto for receiving stolen property, when they were arrested Wednesday night. They have not been charged with any of the vehicle attacks.

Vigil planned at site where child shot

NORTH HOLLYWOOD - A candlelight vigil A candelight vigil is an outdoor assembly of people carrying candles, held after sunset. Such events are typically held either to protest at the suffering of some marginalized group of people, or in memory of lives lost to some disease, disaster, massacre or other tragedy.  is scheduled for tonight in memory of Paul Youhanian, the 11-year-old Santa Clarita Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country,  boy fatally shot Oct. 5.

The vigil will take place at 9 p.m. at the corner of Whitsett Avenue and Sherman Way, where the shooting occurred. The boy was riding in a mini-van with his mother and brother when he was inexplicably shot in the head.

Organizers invite others to join the vigil to show support for the victim's family Victim's Family was a hardcore punk band formed in 1984 in Santa Rosa, California by bassist Larry Boothroyd and guitarist and vocalist Ralph Spight. Drummer Devon VrMeer completed the trio. .
