 - The Local Group, an astronomy club in the Santa Clarita Valley The Santa Clarita Valley is the valley of the Santa Clara River in Southern California. It stretches through Los Angeles County and Ventura County. Its main population center is the city of Santa Clarita. Spelling fund-raiser to supply computers

VALENCIA - Meadows Elementary School will have its first-ever spell-a-thon today, and money raised through pledges will go to buy computers for kindergarten through third-grade classrooms.

Spell-a-thon winners and pledge results will be announced during Meadows' variety show, scheduled for 6 p.m. April 23 on the blacktop behind the school.
