Burbank offering pickup of big items

BURBANK - The city of Burbank's Bulky Item Pickup will collect furniture, large appliances, old carpeting and other cumbersome items weekly.

Burbank residents should call the pickup hotline at (818) 238-3805 two days before their regular trash pickup and leave their name, address, a description of the item and whether it is on the curb or alley.

Volunteer drivers sought for program

BURBANK - The Home Delivered Meals program needs volunteer drivers, age 55 and older, one day a week for two hours.

The program, offered at the McCambridge Recreation Center, 1515 N. Glenoaks Blvd., supplies meals to elderly residents who cannot leave their homes. Volunteers must have their own car and are needed to work from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
