GLENDALE - A Glendale Municipal Court judge on Thursday refused to lower the bail of a man accused of setting his house on fire after an argument with his wife.

Judge Barbara Burke Barbara Hannah Anita Burke (born 13 May, 1917) is a former British athlete who competed mainly in the 100 metres.

She competed for Great Britain in the 1936 Summer Olympics held in Berlin, Germany in the 4 x 100 metres where she won the silver medal with her team mates
 left Faraj Yeretsian's bail at $250,000, said Yeretsian's attorney Frederick Nameth.

Nameth argued for his client's bail to be lowered to $100,000 so he could be released to seek medical attention. The 37-year-old is under a great deal of stress, Nameth said.

Glendale police arrested Yeretsian on Sunday on suspicion of arson. Yeretsian stood across the street from his burning home and told an officer, ``I burned the house,'' said Sgt. Rick Young.

Burbank program offers toilet trade

BURBANK - The city Public Service Department is offering free ultra-low-flush toilets to Burbank residents in an effort to conserve water.

Burbank residents can receive up to three 1.6-gallon toilets from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 24 at Burbank High School Burbank High School may refer to:

County to clean out 4,640 area drains

The county will open the bidding process May 11.
