LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE - A gunman fled with $600 after robbing a Ralphs grocery store in the 500 block of Foothill Boulevard The following streets are named Foothill Boulevard:

An employee activated a robbery alarm, prompting police to respond. A manager at the store said both customers and employees remained calm during the holdup.

Detectives were investigating the incident Saturday night and the gunman was still at large.

Shooting victim dies at Valley hospital

MISSION HILLS - A man found shot Thursday night in front of a San Fernando bakery in the 500 block of Kalisher Street was pronounced dead at a hospital early Saturday morning, authorities said.

Robert Torres, 35, of Lancaster, died at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center Providence Holy Cross Medical Center is a hospital in Mission Hills, California, USA. The hospital has 254 beds, and is part of Providence Health & Services. History  at 5:40 a.m., said Deputy Benita Nichol of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Information Bureau.

A man, believed to be in his 20s, approached Torres, who was standing near the street at about 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Nichol said. The two exchanged words and then the man shot Torres several times in his upper body. Police were searching for the gunman.
