 and abused the boy at a Big Bear-area camp last summer.

The Superior Court lawsuit filed on behalf of Terri Acquilano and her son claimed the YMCA of the Antelope Valley should have known of the teen counselor's ``dangerous propensity.'' It seeks unspecified damages.

The counselor allegedly wouldn't let the youngster, who was in a group of 8- to 12-year-olds at Camp Whittle, use the bathroom. It caused the then-8-year-old boy to wet his pants, which the counselor allegedly forced the boy to wear, according to according to

YMCA executive director Laura Mayo, named as a defendant, said Tuesday that she hadn't seen the suit and couldn't comment. The name of the counselor wasn't released.

Besides making the boy wear his soiled pants, the lawsuit alleges, the counselor then left the pants ``outside, collecting ants'' and laughed and made fun of the boy.

Palmdale carnival to benefit shelter

PALMDALE - A weekend carnival will benefit the Valley Oasis Domestic Violence Shelter.

Paul Mauer Shows' carnival will be open from noon to 11 p.m. today and noon to 10 p.m. Sunday on Fifth Street East, south of Palmdale Boulevard.

Proceeds will go toward the nonprofit Valley Oasis.
