BRIEFLY : A.V. FESTIVAL SEEKS PAST PARTICIPANTS.

QUARTZ HILL - Quartz Hill Chamber of Commerce leaders are searching for former Miss Quartz Hills, Quartz Hill Little Misses, former Almond Blossom Parade grand marshals and past chamber presidents and directors.

The chamber plans a reunion in connection with the 50th anniversary Almond Blossom Festival, which includes parades at 9 and 10 a.m. Saturday along 50th Street West and a carnival, music, crafts and games from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at George Lane Park.

Chamber leaders asked for help in locating people associated with the festival over the last 50 years. Anyone with information should call the chamber office at (661) 722-4811.

Post office urged for Sun Village area

LOS ANGELES - Los Angeles County supervisors voted Tuesday to urge the U.S. Postal Service to set up shop in Sun Village in the Antelope Valley.

``Sun Village is one of the oldest communities in the Antelope Valley, yet its residents have to drive several miles to Littlerock to access postal services,'' said Supervisor Mike Antonovich, who proposed the motion.

The supervisors will send a signed letter to postal and federal officials urging a Sun Village post office. Supervisors previously backed a post office for Lake Los Angeles.
