A team of six Malibu sheriff's station detectives were searching for the teen-age boy and his girlfriend on Monday night. They are believed to be armed with blue steel revolvers, said Malibu sheriff's Sgt. Phil Morris.

After taking his mother's Explorer, the boy and his girlfriend entered a home at 11:05 a.m. in the 31800 block of Saddle Tree Drive in Westlake Village but fled when they saw someone home, Morris said.

About 40 minutes later, they knocked on the door of a home in the 31600 block of Saddle Tree Drive, and when the maid opened the door, forced their way in at gunpoint, demanding, ``Take us to your boss.''

``When the maid opened the door to the master bedroom, a golden retriever barked at the two suspects, and they became afraid and fled,'' Morris said.

Verdict awaited in pair of killings

A Superior Court jury is expected to deliver a verdict today against three men accused of a 1993 crime spree that included the murder-robbery of Laurie Myles and the killing of Talin Kara Kara (kär`ə), river, c.140 mi (230 km) long, NE European and NW Siberian Russia. Community Council of Encino to debut

The Encino Community Council will hold its first meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday to determine its goals and responsibilities.

Councilwoman Cindy Miscikowski said the meeting at the Encino Community Center, 4935 Balboa Blvd., is designed to give residents and community groups a voice in city policies.

Miscikowski said the community council is not designed to undercut plans to have neighborhood councils.
