PALMDALE - Sheriff's deputies arrested a man and woman they suspect argued with and killed a 65-year-old man in Palmdale on Friday night, officials said.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) is a local law enforcement agency that serves Los Angeles County, California.

About 7 p.m. the three were arguing at a building in the 38000 block of 11th Street East, and that escalated into a fight in which Gailer was killed, a sheriff's report said.

The cause of death will be determined by an autopsy scheduled for today, the Coroner's Office said. The investigation is continuing.

Victim of shooting found in his pickup

STUDIO CITY - A 21-year-old Studio City man was found shot to death in the cab of his pickup truck late Friday, Los Angeles police said.

About 11:50 p.m., officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 12200 block of Otsego Street, police said. They found the victim, Edward Rodriguez, slumped in the driver's seat of his 1988 Ford pickup truck.

He had been shot several times in the upper torso and was declared dead at the scene, police said.

Palm Springs area hit by small quake

DESERT HOT SPRINGS - A small earthquake shook part of the Riverside County desert Saturday, but there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

The magnitude-3.1 temblor shook the area at 6:21 p.m., said Doug Given, a seismologist seis·mol·o·gy
