BRIEFLY : CAMARILLO MAN, 19, VICTIM IN CAR CRASH.

CAMARILLO - The 19-year-old man killed in a solo car crash on Upland Road was identified Thursday as Jake Joseph Morales, officials said.

The Camarillo man died from massive head and chest injuries, the Ventura County Coroner's Office reported.

Morales was driving a late-model Chevy Camaro east on Upland Road from the Mission Oaks area Wednesday evening when he lost control going around a curve east of Paseo Noche, said Camarillo police Sgt. Chris Lathrop.

There were no witnesses to the crash. A doctor who was the first to arrive on the scene called for help at 6:38 p.m. and administered aid, Lathrop said.

The victim was taken to St. John's Pleasant Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:13 p.m., the Coroner's Office reported.
