 acting President Mary E. Lee has been reassigned to an administrative post in the Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  Community College District's headquarters, district officials said Thursday.

 began, is expected to take the post when she returns April 1. She will serve as a liaison to other higher-education sectors, and will help develop a series of teleconferencing centers throughout the district, officials said.

Lee's job also will include other duties that district officials have not yet established.

Lee was acting president at the Woodland Hills campus for nearly two years, but was passed over by a selection committee in mid-January as a finalist for the permanent post. As a result, she did not return to the campus.
