BRIEFLY; REDESIGNED BUS TERMINAL OPENS.

SYLMAR - A redesigned bus terminal at the Sylmar/San Fernando Metrolink Station opened this week, allowing for more efficient traffic flow and improved aesthetics for riders, officials said.

This allows drivers to take a break between runs without leaving their buses in the middle of the busy pedestrian area.

The DOT also improved the pickup and dropoff area by installing better lighting and pavement and more landscaping.

A grand opening ceremony had been scheduled for this morning, but it was canceled because some of the key speakers were unable to attend.

KILLER'S PAROLE HEARING DELAYED

A Van Nuys Superior Court judge who ordered parole set for a convicted Calabasas killer postponed a hearing Wednesday to consider taking further action on the case, officials said.

Due to a heavy trial schedule, Judge Kathryne Stoltz reset the hearing to Jan. 20 so she will have enough time to consider ordering a new parole hearing for Robert M. Rosenkrantz, her clerk said. Rosenkrantz has served 15 years of a 17-year-to-life sentence for murdering a high school classmate who exposed him as a homosexual. Stoltz had previously ordered state prison officials to set a parole date for Rosenkrantz, but Gov. Gray Davis blocked his release.
