MOORPARK - The Ventura County Waterworks waterworks: see water supply.  District will be flushing the water system around the Moorpark College Moorpark College is a California-state funded community college located on a 134 acre (542,000 m²) property reclining on a hill in Moorpark, a town in Ventura County, California.  area from Monday through Jan. 14 as part of its regular annual maintenance, officials said.

Flushing will be done from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. that week. There may be a slight discoloration dis·col·or·a·tion

GALLEGLY PRAISED BY BUSINESS OWNERS

Elton Gallegly, R-Simi Valley, was recognized as a friend of small business, earning a 100 percent rating from the National Federation of Independent Business The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) is a lobbying organization with offices in Washington, D.C. USA, and in all 50 state capitals. NFIB claims a membership base in excess of 600,000.  for key votes he cast last year, officials said.

It was the second time in two years Gallegly garnered a 100 percent rating by the NFIB NFIB National Federation of Independent Business

The organization selected 11 votes in 1999 as key indicators and found that Gallegly, a former small businessman, voted in support of small business interests every time.

COUNCILMAN'S FUND AIDS LOCAL CHARITIES

THOUSAND OAKS - Two community groups recently received funding from the Andy Fox Charitable Community Fund.

The Conejo Open Space Foundation received a $700 grant to support its annual Trail Day, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Eric Huberth Post 11395 received $500 for its annual Voice of Democracy essay contest, Councilman Andy Fox said.

Fox also announced he will sponsor the Senior Concerns Ultimate Dining Experience for $5,000. The event raises funds to support ongoing programs of Conejo Valley Senior Concerns, which includes the Fitzgerald Center and Meals on Wheels n. 1. A program that delivers hot meals to persons, such as the elderly or disabled, who are confined to their homes and unable to cook for themselves; also, the meals thus delivered. Such programs are usually conducted by governmental or charitable organizations. .

Fox's Charitable Fund is among the charitable foundations administered by the Ventura County Community Foundation.

DEMOCRATIC CLUB TO MEET MONDAY

THOUSAND OAKS - The Democratic Club of the Conejo Valley will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday at the Thousand Oaks Library, 1401 E. Janss Road.
