NORTH HOLLYWOOD - A campaign forum on Friday will feature candidates for state Assembly in the San Fernando Valley San Fernando Valley

Valley, southern California, U.S. Northwest of central Los Angeles, the valley is bounded by the San Gabriel, Santa Susana, and Santa Monica mountains and the Simi Hills.

Candidates in Assembly districts 38, 41 and 42 will speak at the event, which is sponsored by a committee of the Valley Industry and Commerce Association and the Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  Area Chamber of Commerce.

COUNCIL'S OPINION ON GREEK SOUGHT

In a move to include the Los Angeles City Council The Los Angeles City Council is the governing body of the City of Los Angeles, California, United States.  in a disputed contract, the city Recreation and Parks Commission on Wednesday asked the council to review a plan to seek new bids to operate the Greek Theatre.

With a mandate to open up bidding for the facility or face a $1.5 million referendum election, the commission said it wanted council members to indicate their concerns before a bid package is sent out.

CHICK AIDE NAMED TO HEAD FILM BOARD

Gov. Gray Davis has tapped the chief deputy to Councilwoman Laura Chick to serve as director of the California Film Commission.

Karen Constine, who has worked as Chick's chief deputy since her 1993 election, will take over the job in the near future. The commission works to coordinate activities in the entertainment industry and with local government to keep production in California.

The City Council on Wednesday authorized payment for computer software that will link 18 police stations, 100 fire stations and emergency response teams via a secure network.

The Internet-based emergency management software was developed by the city in conjunction with eteam.com Inc.
