FIRE LEAVES FAMILY OF EIGHT HOMELESS

VAN NUYS - A faulty water heater caused a blaze Friday that gutted a mobile home, leaving a Van Nuys family of eight homeless.

The fire broke out at about 12:15 p.m. at a mobile home park at 7650 Balboa Blvd., near the Van Nuys Airport Van Nuys Airport (IATA: VNY, ICAO: KVNY, FAA LID: VNY) is a public airport located in Van Nuys, California in the San Fernando Valley, within the Los Angeles city limits. , said Los Angeles fire spokesman Brian Humphrey.

A woman and her six small children managed to escape when the blaze broke out, but the fire totally destroyed their home before firefighters could respond, he said.
