IHOP predicting gains won't be flat

GLENDALE - IHOP Corp. expects improved annual performance in 2005, the pancake chain announced Wednesday. Earnings per share should be in the $2.02 to $2.12 range, based on same-store sales growth between 2 and 4 percent this year. It plans on adding 62 to 72 new restaurants, mainly from franchisees, and expects in 2005 to generate between $55 million and $65 million in cash from operations.

LANG, Expo team up for career fair

LONG BEACH - Even a hint of an opening in the high-tech industry piques Russ Florey's interest.

Florey was one of about 500 people who attended the Career Site Connection Job Fair on Wednesday at the Long Beach Convention Center.

Armenian groups receive checks

A New York-based insurer delivered checks to three local charity groups on Wednesday to settle a class-action lawsuit stemming from the Armenian Genocide. Cinema Ride set to change name

STUDIO CITY - Cinema Ride Inc. announced Wednesday that it will likely change its name to Tix Corp. by the end of this quarter.

Still pending approval from federal regulators, the Studio City-based company said the name change will reflect its business direction better.

The company sells half-price, same-day Las Vegas show tickets at major locations on the Las Vegas Strip.
