CALABASAS - On Assignment, Inc., said Friday that Karen Brenner will not seek re-election as a director at the company's shareholder meeting in June.

Brenner has been a director of On Assignment since October 1993, while serving as chairwoman of the board's audit committee. Brenner is currently a principal of Brenner & Company LLC (Logical Link Control) See "LANs" under data link protocol.

Kennedy creates an asset division

BEVERLY HILLS Beverly Hills, city (1990 pop. 31,971), Los Angeles co., S Calif., completely surrounded by the city of Los Angeles; inc. 1914. The largely residential city is home to many motion-picture and television personalities.  - Kennedy Wilson Inc. created a division that will handle acquisitions and asset management on the West Coast, the Beverly Hills-based real estate investment and management firm announced Friday.

The West Coast Acquisitions and Asset Management Group's senior managing director will be Robert Hart. Its managing director will be Ross Crowe. Joseph Winkler Winkler may refer to:

Alcoa tops market Q1 expectations

PITTSBURGH - Alcoa Inc. surprised Wall Street on Friday, reporting higher-than-expected first-quarter earnings amid a very tight energy market.

 Corp.'s chief takes cut in pay

CHICAGO - UAL Corp. chief executive Glenn F. Tilton will be taking another salary cut due to bankrupt United Airlines' continued financial woes, the company announced Friday.

In December, Tilton reduced his annual salary and those of 36 other executives by 11 percent. The action came at a time when the airline announced the layoffs of about 350 pilots and other cost-cutting measures.

The airline said Tilton's salary would be reduced by an additional 14 percent, effective April 1. The net effect is a 25 percent reduction in his annual salary, or a reduction of $237,500, to $712,500.

ConAgra rejects payment requests

, Neb. - ConAgra Foods rejected inaccurate payment requests from a division of major food distributor Royal Ahold NV, whose accounting practices are under investigation, a ConAgra spokesman said Friday.

Last week, The Wall Street Journal reported that ConAgra might be among major food companies included in federal investigations.
