BRIEFCASE MERCURY SELLS OFF REFUELING CENTERS.

Mercury Air Group annunced Tuesday that it has sold its 19 refueling centers to Allied Capital Corp. for $76.3 million. Los Angeles-based Mercury had run the centers, known as fixed base operations, as the cornerstone of its operations for several decades. Locally, the portfolio includes sites at Bob Hope Airport Bob Hope Airport (IATA: BUR, ICAO: KBUR, FAA LID: BUR) is a regional and national airport located in Burbank, California, United States.

Mercury said the sale, aimed at erasing $41.3 million in debt and interest, will allow it to concentrate on fuel services and cargo transport. Its stock, traded on the American Exchange, closed up 28 cents at $6.47 on Tuesday.

GLENDALE - IHOP Corp. announced another round of multistore development deals with three franchisees Tuesday that should add 14 new pancake restaurants in the next five years.

Kinko's leaving Ventura, Oxnard

VENTURA - The 430 corporate employees of Kinko's Inc. in Ventura County are losing their jobs or being transferred to the new Dallas headquarters.

The surprise consolidation announcement this week firmly transplants the company to Texas.

About 330 finance and technology workers in Ventura and Oxnard will be laid off between June and May 31, 2005, the company said. Those remaining will be offered transfers to Kinko's headquarters in Dallas, where the company moved in 2002.

Ventura has been the corporate home of Kinko's since 1988. The company was acquired in February for $2.4 billion by the FedEx Corp.

Turner, Dish spar over rate increase
