Atico International USA Inc. of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., received one report that a candle holder melted, but there were no injuries, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said.

Some of the red, white and green candles come in packages with the words ``Merry Christmas,'' ``Christmas Morning,'' ``Candy Cane'' or ``A Christmas Avenue.''

Consumers were advised to stop using the candles and return them to the store for a refund. For more information, consumers can call the company at (800) 645-3867.

Microsoft plans appeal over Java

BALTIMORE - Microsoft Corp. plans to appeal a federal court ruling requiring it to include its rival's updated Java programming language in its Windows operating system.

The ruling Monday gave Sun Microsystems a victory as it pursues its private antitrust suit against the software giant.

Sun shares rose 17 cents, or 5.7 percent, to close Tuesday at $3.13 each on the Nasdaq Stock Market Nasdaq stock market

The first electronic stock market listing over 5000 companies. The Nasdaq stock market comprises two separate markets, namely the Nasdaq National Market, which trades large, active securities and the Nasdaq Smallcap Market that trades emerging growth companies.
.

Microsoft spokesman Jim Desler said the company needs to review the details of the decision, but initially plans to appeal the decision to the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Microsoft was disappointed in the decision by U.S. District Judge J. Frederick Motz, said Desler, adding that it was premature to comment on when the latest version of Java will be included in Windows.

During a three-day hearing earlier this month, Sun attorneys argued that Microsoft has gained an unfair advantage by shipping Windows - used by more than 90 percent of the world's personal computers - with an outdated version of Java that's inconsistent for its users.
