 Corp.'s fourth-quarter earnings slid 26 percent as part of its restructuring plan, the restaurant chain announced Thursday. Revenue was down slightly to $102.8 million, making earnings of $8.8 million, 41 cents per share Cents per share

For the full year, it had revenue of $404.8 million, with net income of $36.8 million, $1.70 per share. In 2002, it had revenue of $365.9 million with net income of $40.8 million, $1.92 per share. The current year included reorganization charges of $9.1 million, 26 cents per share.

Shares closed up 39 cents at $37.52 after the report.

Acacia, Disney group reach deal

NORTH HOLLYWOOD - Acacia Research Corp. on Thursday said it has licensed its digital media transmission technology to the Walt Disney Internet Group The Walt Disney Internet Group (WDIG) oversees several websites owned by The Walt Disney Company and its subsidiaries. [1] The division's Disney Online unit operates disney. .

The group includes the Disney, ESPN ESPN Entertainment and Sports Programming Network  and ABCNews Web sites. Newport Beach-based Acacia acquires and licenses patents dealing with audio-on-demand, video-on-demand and audio/video streamlining.

Acacia shares rose $1.12, or 20.1 percent, to close at $6.68 Thursday on the Nasdaq market.

 Scientific Inc. on Thursday posted a $3.9 million and 38 cents-a-share loss in the first quarter, compared with a loss of $1 million and 10 cents in the prior-year period.

The company attributed the decrease to a sales arrangement change.

In October 2003, NASI announced it would acquire NOMOS NOMOS Knowledge Acquisition for Normative Reasoning System  Corp. in the first quarter of 2004. But the Securities and Exchange Commission has asked for additional data, including updated NOMOS audited financial data, which could delay the closing until the second calendar quarter.

CALABASAS - The Ryland Group Inc. said Thursday its directors authorized an additional 1 million-share buyback of the company's common stock.

The company has already bought back 500,000 shares.

It has about 438,000 shares remaining from its previous authorization, bringing the total remaining authorization to more than 1.4 million shares.

Ryland is a home builder and a mortgage-finance company. It operates in 27 markets across the country and has built more than 215,000 homes and financed more than 185,000 mortgages since its founding in 1967.

Galpin opening new dealership

VALENCIA - Galpin Motors will add an eighth local dealership on Monday, the auto group announced Thursday.

Selling Lincolns, Mercurys and Mazdas, the 27,750-square-foot dealership, purchased from AutoNation, will undergo renovation in upcoming months. Located on Auto Row at 24135 Creekside Road, this will be Galpin's second Valencia dealership, joining Saturn of Santa Clarita.
