Gasoline prices fell throughout Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. ``Beginning the week of September 8th to the end of October, California's gasoline refiners produced 11.3 percent less product in an effort to stop the free fall of gas prices,'' said Auto Club spokesman Jeffrey Spring.

``Despite that effort, prices continue to fall. This is great news for motorists who will travel for the Thanksgiving holiday.''

Lockheed and Boeing released a joint statement after the meeting saying the companies ``now have a much better understanding of each other's business considerations'' and have agreed to meet again at an undetermined date.

Two weeks ago, the Pentagon announced it had picked Lockheed over Boeing to develop the new plane. The production phase of the work could be worth $200 billion, based on a projected order of 3,000 planes.

Lockheed's main subcontractors are Northrop Grumman Corp. and UK-based BAE Systems. Final assembly would be done at Lockheed's aeronautics division in Fort Worth.

DETROIT - General Motors Corp. said Friday it is recalling 86,312 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer and GMC Envoy sport utility vehicles This page lists sports utility vehicles currently in production (as of April 2007), as well as past models. The list includes crossover SUVs, Mini SUVs, Compact SUVs and other similar vehicles.  for a problem that could cause the gear shift lever to suddenly move out of park.

The shift collar on some of the vehicles was not machined according to specifications, GM spokesman Michael Morrissey said.

Of the vehicles being recalled, 969 were included in a September recall for a similar problem with the shift collar. This latest recall involves all four-wheel drive TrailBlazers and Envoys built between Jan. 16 and Aug. 24.

Heinz backs off earnings forecast

PITTSBURGH - H.J. Heinz Co. lowered its earnings forecasts, citing the economic slowdown and a decline in restaurant dining in the wake of the Sept. 11 attacks and higher-than-expected foreign supply costs. Its shares fell nearly 7 percent in trading Friday.

Heinz said late Thursday that it expects earnings between 59 cents and 60 cents per share Cents per share
