Daily Grill to open eatery in Houston

Grill Concepts Inc. announced Tuesday it will join Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. in opening a Daily Grill restaurant at the Westin Galleria Hotel in Houston.

The opening is scheduled for next month.

Los Angeles-based Grill Concepts owns and manages full service restaurants under the brand names The Grill on the Alley and Daily Grill.

The work, scheduled to be completed by October, will include renovations of restaurant and bar areas, lobby and reception areas, the pool area and guest rooms.

Gemstone also announced that Jeffrey Solenberger is the new general manager of the Inn, formerly known as the Beverly Hills Inn.

Senate panel OKs accounting bill

WASHINGTON - A Senate panel on Tuesday approved legislation to tighten oversight of the accounting industry and restrict the consulting work accountants can do for companies whose books they audit.

United employees accept pay cuts
