BRIEFCASE FARMERS OFFERING INTERNET QUOTES.

Los Angeles-based Farers Insurance Group of Companies on Tuesday launched a service in which consumers in California will be able to go online and receive a free quote on their auto insurance via the Internet.

Customers will be able to get a preliminary auto insurance quote through Farmers FastQuote by visiting www.farmers.com.

Once there, they will go to the Quote My Policy section and answer a couple of questions and within seconds will get a free online quote. Customers can then opt to have an agent contact them or they can be directed to an agent in their area.

Farmers FastQuote was first piloted in Colorado last August.

Pair gets promoted to Skechers execs

Founded in 1992, the Manhattan Beach-based company designs, develops and markets branded footwear for men, women and children.

Southwest brings back friends fare

 Co. is bringing back its Friends Fly Free fares in hopes of filling up airplane seats for the summer, the airline has announced.

Analysts say Southwest's two-for-one fare sale will generate interest and increase revenue during the school vacation months since families will be more likely to fly.
