 Co. announced Wednesday that it has formed a new business unit, Buena Vista Game Entertainment Studio, and installed 14-year Disney veteran Jan E. Smith as the president.

The company said Smith will continue in her current role as president of Disney Interactive while building the new organization.

``Technological changes are rapidly sweeping over the game industry,'' said Robert A. Iger, Disney's president and chief operating officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Marketer to delay 3-for-1 stock split

Los Angeles-based GenesisIntermedia Inc. announced Wednesday that it is postponing the previously announced 3-for-1 forward split of its common stock, citing the market's current volatility.

``Recent conditions within the financial markets have prompted us to consider whether shareholders and the company would benefit from a stock split at this time,'' said Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Ramy El-Batrawi.

``We will re-evaluate the feasibility of this split in the near future,'' he said.

GenesisIntermedia is involved in direct sales and marketing of consumer products, and interactive advertising and data mining in retail malls under the Centerlinq brand.
