CSC gets 10-year contract with D&B

EL SEGUNDO - Computer Sciences Corp. announced Friday that D&B, formerly known as Dun & Bradstreet, has signed a 10-year information technology outsourcing Information Technology Outsoucing or ITO is a company's outsourcing of computer or Internet related work, such as programming, to other companies. It is used in refence to Business Process Outsourcing or BPO, which is the outsourcing of the work that does not require so much  agreement with CSC valued at about $560 million.

D&B, a provider of business information and technology solutions, will transition to CSC its data center operations, technology help desk and network management functions in the U.S. and the United Kingdom.

In the United States, D&B will also transfer to CSC desktop and laptop support functions, as well as print and mail facilities.

The El Segundo-based consulting and IT services firm will acquire D&B's data center and print facility in Berkeley Heights, N.J.

It is expected that about 350 D&B IT professionals in the United States and the UK will transition to CSC in August.

Select Comfort near settlement

MINNEAPOLIS - Select Comfort Corp. says it has tentatively agreed to settle a shareholder lawsuit alleging that the air-bed maker misrepresented its sales and financial condition to artificially inflate its stock price.

Select Comfort, in a filing Friday with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, said the settlement did not involve any cash payment or other payment obligation by the company, which did not admit any liability or wrongdoing wrong·do·er

 downgraded Dynegy Inc. to junk status Friday, noting concern about the company's ability to shore up its finances with more than $8 billion in debt looming.

Dynegy announced a sweeping restructuring plan earlier this week to beef up cash flow, which includes a dividend cut, the spinoff of a unit and the partial sale of a 16,500-mile natural gas pipeline that it acquired from bankrupt Enron Corp. in January.
