IT seems men are a bit pants when it comes to buying underwear for themselves - leaving it to their mums and other halfs.

A survey found blokes only buy their own undies for 17 years of their their own undies for 17 years of their lives. The rest of the time that shopping expedition is taken care of by women.

Debenhams found guys only buy briefs between the ages of 19 and 36 -usually to impress a girl.

But shopping for boxers, Y-fronts and trunks needn't be a chorefor guys.

We asked Daily Record fashion stylist Julie Hannah to find the best on the high street and tell us what your pants say about you.

DESIGNER LABELS

Calvin Kleins, pounds 24 @Frasers Adesigner label gives a guy an instant confidence boost. The man who wears these takes pride in his appearance and is very fashion conscious. He likes a well-dressed girl and will be impressed by a girl who spends time on fashion and beauty.

Y-FRONTS

Red Aussie Bum Y fronts, pounds 18 @Frasers You might imagine Y fronts to be a dull option but these days, they're a fashion statement. A guy who wears these in bright colours likes his body and wants to be seen.

WHITE BRIEFS
