BRIDGEPORT MACHINES COMPLETES ACQUISITION OF GERMAN MANUFACTURING OPERATIONS.

BRIDGEPORT, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 5, 1995--Bridgeport Machines, Inc. (Nasdaq: BPTM) through its wholly owned United Kingdom subsidiary, Bridgeport Machines Ltd., announced today that it has completed the previously announced acquisition of certain assets of a former manufacturing plant of Deckel Maho AG I.K. in Kempten, Germany. The Company purchased the facility's machinery and equipment for approximately $9.6 million and also entered into a seven-year lease for the manufacturing space with an option to extend the lease to 20 years.

The Company noted that Malcolm Taylor, Managing Director of Bridgeport Machines Ltd., will have responsibility for the operations in Kempten.
