BRIAN I never had affair with DELTA; McFADDEN DENIES CHEATING WITH AUSSIE SOAP BABE EXCLUSIVE.
EMBATTLED Brian McFadden yesterday denied claims his marriage is in tatters over an alleged fling with a sexy Australian soap star and insisted: "It's rubbish."
Desperate efforts continued yesterday to save his marriage to Kerry, 24, but the former Westlife star's agent said no one else is involved.
Weekend reports had linked Brian with ex-Neighbours star Delta Goodrem, 20, who duets with him on his latest single.
But PR chief Max Clifford rubbished the claims and said: "The story about an affair is absolute nonsense."
The Mirror has learned:
KERRY and Brian have not spoken in days and just had a brief phone chat at the weekend
FRIENDS think they need to meet up to have a chance
THEIR relationship is hanging by a thread, and
THEY had a blazing row in a Dublin nightclub just weeks ago.
Mr Clifford added: "It doesn't look very good. There was a brief chat between them but nothing about the problems or where they go from here.
"There are other people trying to bring them together to see what they can do to help but ultimately it's down to themselves."
And he said there is no suggestion the celebrity couple will agree to a trial separation.
Demanding work schedules have been officially blamed for pushing them apart, but Mr Clifford said only the couple know what is going on.
He added: "It has taken everyone by surprise. It's something they don't want to go into. It's been exacerbated by the fact that they haven't spent any time together."
But Mr Clifford insisted Brian's fling with lap dancer Amy Barker on his stag night was not at the core of the crisis.
He added: "Of course that's caused problems in the past but it's a very small part of the overall situation.
"With regard to Brian and Kerry not spending time together, sure, he's had a massive hit and she's been filming. They're both responsible for that situation.
"When there's virtually no contact these things can be blown up.
"I'm optimistic they will come through this a little older and wiser.
"Everyone has their ups and downs and their relationship is better than any other celebrity couple I've ever known."
Despite his hopes the marriage can get back on track, Mr Clifford admitted it "looked very bleak" if they did not meet up.
He added: "We're just hoping in the next few days they will sit down and talk things out. The only chance they have is to spend a bit of time together. It's up in the air."
Sources said yesterday that despite their normal public show of affection, Brian and Kerry were seen having a blazing row in a Dublin club six weeks ago.
One source said: "It happened in Lilies Bordello.
"She stormed into the members' bar and bawled her eyes out.
"Brian was nowhere in sight but it was obvious it was over him.
"People were trying to comfort her but she was completely inconsolable."
