BREAKTHROUGH IN PESTICIDE-FREE FARMING TO BE DEMONSTRATED; PLUS: A NEW

PRODUCT THAT CAN SAVE FARMERS BILLIONS AND HELP SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT
Actor/Environmentalist Eddie Albert to be 'Greennote' Speaker
WHAT: History in the making -- two new agricultural technologies that will have a profoundly positive impact on the environment by eliminating and/or greatly reducing the need to use harmful pesticides. One of the new technologies employs a machine that involves the release of environmentally safe plain water to kill weeds. This technology will be demonstrated in the parking lot outside the Radisson South Hotel media conference headquarters, and at a nearby roadside. Both products have enormous implications for the future of the environment, as they go a long way toward curbing the wholesale use of chemical pesticides now employed on a massive scale in agriculture throughout the United States and much of the rest of the world.
 WHEN: Monday, Nov. 9, 1992, 9 a.m.
WHERE: The Radisson South Hotel, Bloomington, Minn., 612-835-7800.
WHO: AGRO-K CORPORATION and AQUA HEAT TECHNOLOGIES, INC., Minnesota-based companies that are changing the way the world practices agriculture. Leading agricultural scientists, plus growers and farmers from around the country to discuss the impact of new technologies.
WHY: Ground water pollution as a result of agricultural runoff is a major problem throughout the United States. Common chemical pesticides have been discovered polluting ground water supplies -- and the primary use of pesticides is in agricultural practices. Both of the products to be introduce Monday are designed to help steer farmers and growers toward a new and more environmentally sound form of agriculture. Their impact will be felt by everyone -- as we are all a part of the same natural environment!
 DETAILS: Continental breakfast, 8:30 a.m; presentations of new products, 9 - 10:45 a.m.; new product demonstration (outdoors), 11 a.m.
