Cirque du Soleil Honored With Three Noms;

The Awful Truth With Michael Moore Also Nominated

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences nominated today Bravo's Inside the Actors Studio in the category of Outstanding Non-Fiction Series for the 2001 Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles.

Hosted by James Lipton, Inside The Actors Studio will celebrate its 100th Guest in October. The series was nominated for its two-hour special featuring guest Mike Myers.

Also receiving a nomination was for Bravo's acclaimed series, The Awful Truth, hosted by Michael Moore, in the Outstanding Non-Fiction Program (Reality) category. The Awful Truth is a weekly half-hour series in which Michael Moore takes back television from media moguls through a mix of stand-up, provocative video segments and special guest appearances.

The Academy handed out three nominations to Bravo's Cirque du Soleil (Outstanding Costumes for a Variety or Music Program, Outstanding Directing for a Variety or Music Program and Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Special) - adding up to a total of FIVE nominations for the network - the third highest among all cable networks.

She adds, "The Academy's recognition of that officially acknowledges what audiences and artists alike already know: that Bravo is the premiere showcase for destination television."
