BRATTON TAPS IRVINE CHIEF FOR POSITION ON L.A. FORCE.

 Chief William Bratton has tapped Irvine Police Chief Michael Berkow as his new deputy, with initial responsibility for Internal Affairs Internal affairs may refer to:

``LAPD is a truly rare department, with not only a national but international reputation. I am humbled to be offered this job,'' Berkow said.

LAPD Assistant Chief Jim McDonnell, the department's second in command, said he is enthusiastic about Berkow, who is expected to start in early April.

``He has a lot of experience with reform. He's a solid guy, and he'll do a good job for us,'' McDonnell said.

Berkow, who has made a reputation for reforming police agencies and targeting municipal corruption, worked as a consultant in Boston and New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
 during Bratton's tenures in those cities. Berkow also worked for the U.S. Department of Justice in the 1990s, helping rebuild police forces in Somalia and Haiti.
