BRATTON PLEDGES HELP FOR PACOIMA.

PACOIMA - Neighborhoods in Pacoima have been designated for extra resources as part of a Safer City Initiative to turn around crime, Police Chief William Bratton said Tuesday.

``We're committed to liberty and justice for all, whether you were born here or you immigrated here,'' he said. ``This is an extraordinary city because its so welcoming to so many people.''

In addition to street crime, Bratton told meeting participants that terrorism was a top priority and that he has two detectives - one who works in Washington, D.C., and one who works with FBI agents - specially assigned to terror problems.

``We are committed to keeping city safe from terrorism,'' he said.
