Government

The president has nominated Navy Rear Adm. Richard W. Mayo for promotion to vice admiral. Mayo is the director of the Navy's space, information warfare, command and control.

Army Lt. Gen. Michael Dodson has been nominated for assignment as commander of the Stabilization Force in Bosnia. Dodson currently is serving as deputy commander in chief and chief of staff, U.S. Central Command, at MacDill Air Force Base, Fla.

Air Force Lt. Gen. Charles R Holland has been nominated for promotion to general with assignment as commander in chief, U.S. Special Operations Command, at MacDill Air Force Base, Fla. Presently, Holland is serving as vice commander, U.S. Air Forces in Europe, at Ramstein Air Force Base, Germany.

The president has nominated Air Force Maj. Gen. Glen W. Moorhead III for promotion to lieutenant general with assignment as vice commander, U.S. Air Forces in Europe, at Ramstein Air Force Base, Germany. Currently, Moorhead is serving as assistant deputy chief of staff of the Air Force's Air and Space Operations.

Air Force Lt. Gen. Norton A. Schwartz has been nominated for assignment as commander, Alaskan Command, U.S. Pacific Command; commander, Eleventh Air Force, Pacific Air Forces, and commander, Alaskan NORAD region, located at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska.

Air Force Lt. Gen. Thomas R. Case has been nominated for assignment as deputy commander in chief and chief of staff, U.S. Pacific Command. Case presently is serving as commander, Alaskan Command, U.S. Pacific Command; commander, Eleventh Air Force, Pacific Command, and commander, Alaskan NORAD region, at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska.

Navy Vice Adm. Walter F. Doran has been nominated for assignment as the assistant to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Currently, Doran is serving as commander, Seventh Fleet, in Yokosuka, Japan.

The president has nominated Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Michael P. DeLong for promotion to lieutenant general with assignment as deputy commander-in-chief, U.S. Central Command. Delong. presently is serving as the commanding general, Third Marine Aircraft Wing, at the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif.

The president has nominated Army National Guard Col. Bradford C. Brightman for promotion to brigadier general. Brightman is serving as the assistant adjutant general, Alabama State Area Command, in Montgomery, Ala.

The Soldier Systems Center, in Natick, Mass., has a new commander, Brig. Gen. Philip M. Mattox. Matrox previously was director for logistics, engineering and security assistance, U.S. Pacific Command, at Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii.

Industry

Galaxy Aerospace, of Fort Worth, Texas, has named Barry Lambert Harris to the new position of vice president of government and international operations. Harris will open and manage a Galaxy Aerospace office in Washington, D.C., and will be responsible for regulatory affairs, government sales of special mission aircraft, political liaison and international operations.

Richard O. Gillette has been appointed vice president of production and delivery for General Dynamics Land Systems, located in Sterling Heights, Mich. Gillette will be responsible for all of Land Systems manufacturing programs.

John C. Chehansky has been chosen as the vice president and director of business development for ITT Industries' Avionics Division, located in Clifton, N.J. Chehansky's responsibilities include leading the company's domestic and international business development and strategic initiatives.

Sanders, a division of Lockheed Martin, located in Nashua, N.H., has named Mike Shinego as the director of advanced systems for the company's advanced systems and technology organization. Shinego joined Sanders in 1996, as program manager for the ACOMMS advanced technology demonstration program.

Hansel F. Tookes has been named chairman of Raytheon Aircraft Company (RAC), headquartered in Lexington, Mass. Prior to joining RAC, Tookes was president of Pratt & Whitney's Large Military Engines group.

eGAD! Systems, a division of eGad! Software, of Austin, Texas, has appointed Paul Wade general manager. Wade is also vice president of the parent company.

Ibrahim Youssef has been appointed general manager of IDC Aerospace, LLC, Milwaukee. Previously, Youssef worked for Honeywell Internationals in various roles, such as director of sales and marketing and vice president of sales and program management.

Stars and Stripes Omnimedia, an Internet military content and solutions provider, located in Pittsburgh, has named Charles R. Corbin as president and chief operating officer. Corbin joins the company from Remedial Technologies Network.

Tom Richards has been named quality assurance manager for Nylok Fastener Corp, of Macomb, Mich. Richards will be responsible for quality assurance functions and the development of process systems.

Orincon, in San Diego, promoted Arthur P. Garner to the position of president. Garner had been serving as chief operating officer, and prior to that, as vice president of corporate development and special assistant to the president.

Yasmin Seyal has been appointed corporate treasurer for GenCorp, located in Sacramento, Calif.
