Air Force Maj. Gen. John H. Campbell has received presidential nomination for promotion to lieutenant general with assignment as associate director of central intelligence for military support, at the CIA at Langley, Va.
Marine Corps Reserve Maj. Gen. Leo V. Williams has been designated Marine Corps Reserve member of the Reserve Forces Policy Board. Williams serves as the vice director, Joint Experimentation at the U.S. Joint Forces Command, in Norfolk, Va.
Navy Rear Adm. Michael R. Johnson is being assigned as commander, Naval Facilities Engineering Command/Chief of Civil Engineers. Johnson currently is serving as commander, Atlantic Division, in Norfolk, Va.
Navy Rear Adm. Robert L. Phillips is being assigned as commander, Atlantic Division, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, in Norfolk, Va. Presently, Phillips is serving as commanding officer, Southwest Naval Facilities Engineering Command, located in San Diego.
The president intends to appoint Frank Soares to serve as a member of the National Veterans Business Development Corporation. Soares is the stare director of the Bureau of Veterans Services of the Maine Department of Defense, Veterans and Emergency Management.
Navy Vice Adm. Dennis V. McGinn has been nominated for assignment as deputy chief of naval operations, naval warfare, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations. Currently, McGinn is serving as commander, Third Fleet in San Diego.
The president has nominated Navy Rear Adm. Timothy J. Keating for promotion to vice admiral with assignment as deputy chief of naval operations for plans, policy and operations, N3/N5, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations. Keating presently is serving as commander, Carrier Group Five in Yokosuka, Japan.
Guion S. Bluford and Lou Dobbs have joined the board of directors for the Space Foundation, in Colorado Springs, Cob. Bluford is a veteran NASA astronaut and vice president and general manager for Federal Data Corp, of Bethesda, Md., and Dobbs is chairman and chief executive officer of SPACE.com, based in New York. They have been elected to three-year terms.
Air Force Brig. Gen. Michael A. Hamel has been assigned as director, Space Operations and Integration, deputy chief of staff, Air and Space Operations. Currently, Hamel is serving as director of Requirements, Headquarters, Air Force Space Command, Peterson Air Forces Base, Cob.
GE Marine Engines, headquartered in Evendale, Ohio, has appointed Richard K. Douglas as director, Marketing and Sales. Douglas will lead the worldwide marketing and sales effort for GE'S full line of LM marine gas turbines and main reduction gears.
Michael L. Whaley has joined Eastman Kodak Company, of Rochester, N.Y, as chief operating officer and vice president, Commercial and Government Systems (C&GS). Whaley will be responsible for finance, business operations and contracts for C&GS.
Vulcan Lead Inc., located in Milwaukee, has appointed Mike Schaewe as general manager. Schaewe will oversee the daily operation of several companies in the Vulcan group, including the main foundry, the XL-Division and Vulcan Machining Division.
Newport News Shipbuilding, in Newport News, Va., has chosen Matthew J. Mulherin as the director for the CVNX Program. In this position, Mulherin is responsible for the company's design and development efforts for the Navy's new generation of aircraft carriers, CVNX.
Newport News also announced the appointment of Charles S. Ream as senior vice president and chief financial officer.
Retired Army Gen. Dennis J. Reimer has been elected to the board of directors of DRS Technologies Inc., in Parsippany, N.J. Reimer is the director of the National Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism, in Oklahoma Ciry, Okla.
Raytheon Company, of Lexington, Mass., has appointed Ray Kolibaba vice president of Space Systems for the company's Strategic Systems business unit, located in Aurora, Colo.,. Most recently, Kolibaba served as vice president and general manager of Raytheon's Information Technology Systems, based in Landover, Md.
Thomas R. Burke has been named director of Strategic Planning, Information Assurance, for Computer Sciences Corporation's (CSC) Federal Sector, located in Falls Church, Va. Burke joins CSC from the General Services Administration, in Washington, D.C.
Sanders, a Lockheed Martin Company, has named Brian E Walters director of F-22 Development Programs. Prior to this position, Walters led the F-22 EW integration and test team.
Northrop Grumman Corporation's Integrated Systems Sector, of Dallas, has appointed Diego A. Ruiz Palmer to international vice President--Central and Southern Europe. Prior to joining Northrop Grumman, Ruiz Palmer led the Planning and Policy Section in the Defense Support Division of the NATO international staff.
Geonex Mattel Inc., located in Clearwater, Fla., has named retired Army Col. Daniel T. Morris president. Morris was a career military intelligence officer.
