BR AND ECT ANNOUNCE FORMATION OF GATHERING COMPANY.

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 17, 1999--Burlington Resources Inc. (NYSE:BR) ("BR") and Enron Capital & Trade Resources Corp. (NYSE:ENE) ("ECT") announced today they have formed Lost Creek Gathering Company, L.L.C., a limited liability company which will gather and process wellhead production gas from the Wind River Basin in Wyoming.

Burlington Resources will retain a 65 percent interest, with ECT holding the remaining interest. Lost Creek Gathering Company will build a 124-mile, 24-inch wet gas gathering header from the Madden Field in central Wyoming to a processing plant located near Wamsutter, Wyoming. The processed gas will then be delivered into the CIG and/or WIC mainline systems. First deliveries are expected in the first quarter of 2000.
