The winners will be celebrated on September 29, 1999, during a BP Amoco awards ceremony at the Fairmont Hotel. All finalists were selected by the Leader Awards Nomination Committee made up of Chicago business leaders, non-profit executives, the media and representatives from BP Amoco Foundation Inc. The first-round selection of nominees included 69 non-profit groups in the Chicagoland area.
