BP Amoco Acquires Arco's New PP Plant.


Following Federal Trade Commission approval last month, London-based BP Amoco plc completed its acquisition of Arco. As part of the deal, BP Amoco assumes two-thirds ownership in Arco Polypropylene polypropylene (pŏl'ēprō`pəlēn), plastic noted for its light weight, being less dense than water; it is a polymer of propylene. , a joint venture of Arco and Itochu Itochu Corporation (伊藤忠商事株式会社   Corp. of Japan. Arco Polypropylene started up a 440-million-lb/yr PP plant in Carson, Calif., last December.
